The Way I Work

I make photographs because I’ve always believed there’s a deeper truth to be found in beauty — and I’ve spent a lifetime finding it in the American West. It’s the only thing that’s ever made sense to me.

Every image I create is offered as an open edition.

I don’t believe in manufacturing rarity.

The value of a photograph comes from the work itself — its presence, its craft, and its ability to hold your attention.

Prints begin at $40,000 for a meticulously framed 15”x10” piece (approximately 22”x18” framed size). Larger prints are available upon request and are priced accordingly. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when ordering, with the balance due before final shipment. Shipping is FOB Santa Fe, New Mexico. You’ll select the air shipping company that best suits you and arrange for them to pick up your photograph directly from us.

That price isn’t for effect. It’s a reflection of a lifetime spent learning how to see, how to wait, and how to make a photograph built to endure.

Like Alfred Stieglitz, I believe that the framing process is an integral part of the artistic expression. Each of my works is personally framed by me, ensuring that the presentation supports and enhances the beauty of the photograph. This level of attention to detail reflects my commitment to creating not just an image, but an experience.

I don’t place my work in traditional galleries.

It’s not a protest, and it’s not a statement about the art world.

It’s simply a return to how things were meant to be.

In New Mexico, the tradition has always been for artists to sell directly.

That was the spirit of Canyon Road when it was still dirt, when it was affordable to live here, and when artists opened their doors to those who valued the work for what it was. Much of that has changed over the years.

The truth is, the only requirement to open a gallery is the cost of unlocking the door. Many gallery owners have little connection to the work they represent. Sales are often driven by what’s already sitting in their drawers — pieces they overcommitted to long ago — rather than what’s right for the person standing in front of them.

That isn’t how I work.

I deal directly with those who see a photograph, feel something shift inside them, and choose to live with it.

If a piece belongs with you, you’ll know.

And if it doesn’t, that’s fine too.
